Sup, everyone beefy smash those here with a smash 4 guide about trumping, but especially about how you can avoid [getting] trumped for those who don't know what trumping means in Smash 4 if two characters try to grab the same ledge the one who grabbed it earlier will get pushed off Good players started to use this to their advantage by waiting for their opponent to recover and immediately grabbing the ledge after them therefore pushing them off and usually following with the back air or by going back on stage and punishing their opponent if they grab the ledge again this time without invincibility Now how can [you] prevent that? First simply use the right get up move fast enough after you grab the ledge if you roll jump or [attack] to get on the stage you will never get trumped if you try to use the normal get up move let go of the ledge or Simply wait too long you [will] get trumped You have about 20 frames counted from when you grab the ledge before you will get pushed off This number varies a bit for some characters Sonic for example hangs for only 19 frames Anyway the important thing is that you have to be fast enough for it to work let's talk about the weaknesses and strong points in those three options the Attack move is in my opinion the worst option it gives your opponent plenty of time for an easy punish The jump looks a lot better, but you still are above your opponent which in smash is never a good position to be in on The first look the roll seems like the best option. It's pretty fast you gain distance from your enemy, and you stay on the ground But when calculating your options, it's also important to count in your opponent's mind games If you avoid his trump a lot he will probably adapt to that and sometimes [Fainter] trump or simply wait on stage to Punish your uSUal Getup method That's why it's important to always switch up your gameplay [I] would recommend using a mix of the get up jump and roll if you think your opponent will trump you or if you can react fast enough If you think you won't go for a trump you can also use a different option than the mentioned [three] to get back on stage The next technique is a bit more challenging. Though you can force your character not to do that and keep the upbeat going as if there was no ledge if Your opponent tries to go for [trump] while you are doing that You can either knock him away or sometimes even trump him instead of getting trumped on your own because you grab the ledge after him So how does this work in every smash if you press down [on] your control stick [you] won't grab the ledge no matter what? This also works if you press down while recovering with an [upbeat] move Let's take fox up b. As an example.
