This is the measurement of a standard yard
of fabric from a stitching store. Or any standard yard. A little bit more than a fabric from a fabric
store but this is for stitching. This is ...
A quarter yard is eighteen wide
by twenty-seven inches high. A half a yard is thirty-six inches wide by
twenty-seven inches high ... OR ... Eighteen inches wide and fifty-four inches high.
There are a lot of patterns that go this way
... Right? ... Not this way. And then a natural yard of linen or evenweave
equals thirty-six wide by fifty-four.
Very rarely will you need this large measurement
or this measurement or even this measurement. The average is eighteen inches wide by twenty-seven
inches high. So, doing our math on our project ... There are
eighteen inches wide by twenty-seven inches high.
Now our pattern is ten and three-eighths inches
wide by sixteen point four two. I always round up. So, this becomes eleven and this becomes seventeen. We add six inches ...
Three inches for each
side. So, the pattern ... Piece of fabric we need
is seventeen by twenty-three. So, if you look at this, eighteen wide by
twenty-seven high.
